RECYCLING OF USED FOOD & BEVERAGE CARTONS
THE CHALLeNGE
TOO MUCH WASTE IS NOT RECYCLED
Annually, the global food and beverage industry manufactures in excess of 240 billion packages, contributing to the consumption of over 6 million tons of virgin materials. Sadly, a substantial portion of these materials ultimately finds its way into incinerators or landfills, which is environmentally unsustainable. The pressing need to embrace innovative recycling solutions is paramount, not only to meet the demands of the modern world but also to actively participate in a global green transition.
At Danish Recycling Technology & Solutions (commonly referred to as DRTS), our commitment to this cause is unwavering. Over the years, we have invested significant time and resources in research, development, and rigorous testing to create groundbreaking recycling solutions. Our aim is to set new standards by delivering recycling processes with the highest quality and efficiency ever achieved. By doing so, we hope to not only mitigate the negative environmental impact of packaging waste but also to substantially reduce our collective carbon footprint and contribute to a sustainable future for generations to come.

COMMERCIAL PLANT IN DENMARK
Together with international partners and EU subsidies
The first commercial plant is applied thoughout EU subsidy program and capital raised. We plan to build the first ever commercial plant in Denmark with breaking ground in Q1-2024.

CERTIFICATION OF QUALITY
Highest quality ever seen
After extensive testing we were able to seperate and extract the plastics out of a food & beverage carton to a quality not seen before in the market and with properties for repeated recycling.

TESTING & PROOF OF CONCEPT
Validation of technology
After comprehensive testing of our technology on used food & beverage cartons from around the world in our pilot plant and laboratory, we are arrived with a proof of concept and a financial validation of each separate component.

2nd GRANT RECEIVED
While continuing to build our Pilot Plant
In the process of manufacturing our pilot plant we received the 2nd grant from the Danish Innovation Foundation as we discovered that one of the processes in our technology enabled us to produce hydrogen gas (H2) from waste!

THE IDEA AND THE 1st GRANT
Materials too good to be lost
The idea of separation of all components (paper, plastics, aluminium) from the used food & beverage carton shoed in the pre-study that the materials in seperated form were of such a high value that they were too good to be wasted along with the significant climate impact with removing them from landfills and incineration plants.
